This course is an introduction to modern linguistics, covering its major areas of study (morphology, syntax/grammar, semantics). In addition, the basic concepts of translatology (e.g., equivalence, translation strategies, translation procedures) are introduced. The aim of this course is to provide an overview of linguistics and translatology as academic disciplines (objects of study, terminology, methods), thus laying the foundations for participation in seminars. Requirements for obtaining credits: You are expected to regularly attend the course and complete the assignments that are given in class (Studienleistungen). |
