While the notion ‘register’ focuses on those that are functionally adapt, ‘genre’ foregrounds conventional use and ‘style’ aesthetic preference associated with particular historical periods or authors. Assignments depend on whether the summer term will be taught online or on campus. They may include a quiz, presentations or papers.
