E-Mails, e-conferences, video-calls, voice-messages... – our professional life unfolds nowadays in a hybrid space made of offline and online communication. As scientists and academics, we are expected to use the chances offered by digitization and successfully reach our goals via multimodal collaborations with a variety of people we perhaps have barely actually seen –... What about the challenges? This workshop aims to support scientists in developing fruitful collaborations beyond cultural differences (e.g. disciplinary, linguistic) and geographical distance, helping them to develop suitable strategies to avoid frustration and misunderstanding and enhancing key skills. In order to do this, digital and intercultural communications knowledge will be shared, as well as practices by using a variety of didactic methods and techniques. The specific contents of the workshop will be shaped upon the expectations of the participants. The course will be organized into 3 online meetings: the first will be of 1.5 hours, the other two meetings of 3 hours with a half an hour break. |
