PowerPoint by Microsoft is the most widely used application for creating presentations, which can either be demonstrated using a projector or shown directly on a screen. PowerPoint or similar programmes are used for almost every professional presentation nowadays to enrich one’s speech with texts and pictures or graphics in a meaningful way. There are practically no limits to the design of the slides in the form of a personal or “corporate design“.
To further facilitate the transfer of content, various animations can be used, which emphasize the content in a lively way. Audio or video sequences can also be easily integrated into the slides. In addition, presentations in PowerPoint can be recorded permanently and played back later, which is particularly useful for digital teaching.
In this course, participants will learn both the basics and important advanced topics related to creating presentations with PowerPoint (versions 2016 and 2019). In addition to the introduction to program operation, the lecturer also provides some basic rules for the didactically clever and attention-grabbing design of presentations with slides.
- Part 1 of the course on Tuesday, 10th January 2022 (9.00-12.00 hrs.): basic tools to create PPT slides, design text and various content elements (pictures, graphics etc.)
- Part 2 of the course on Tuesday, 17th January 2022 (9.00-12.00 hrs.): how to control and record presentations, use of animations, application of templates, tips for successful presentations
Please note that the two parts of the course can in principle be attended independently from each other.
Technical requirements:
The course takes place as an online course in MS Teams. [further standard instructions from the ZelL for using MS Teams]
We assume that you will be able to use a PowerPoint version (at least version 2013) on your own computer when participating in this course. Any differences in the menu navigation of the different versions of PowerPoint only play a minor role.
