“Comparative European Politics: Comparative public policy analysis”
Modul “Vertiefung der politikwiss. Europaforschung 1
Public policies are the main outputs of political systems. Studying public policies comparatively therefore enables us to analyse many parts of the political process leading from citizens’ preferences and public opinion through interest aggregation by political parties or interest groups, to the policy-making process that generates public policies. Drawing on theories of comparative public policy research and policy studies, we will analyse different policy areas comparatively – such as social policies, law and order, migration or environmental policies. We will also focus on the European level which affects national policy-making processes in many ways. The seminar will be held in English, final term papers can also be written in German. |
