In recent years a large number of various wearable devices emerged (e.g. fitness tracker, smartwatches, data glasses). They stand out due to the combination of computational power with being mobile. Besides that the progress with development tools like micro-computers (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry PI) extendable with numerous sensors, and prototyping tools (e.g. 3D Printer) facilitates a quick deployment of new devices or extensions for existing solutions.
The objective of this seminar is two-part. In the first part we will get an overview by looking into existing literature to establish a theoretical background. The second part is a practical one. You are encouraged to develop an idea and bring this idea into life by developing a prototypical device. |
